ITOM Event Data Recorder (EDR) Solution
With the upcoming mandatory implementation of Event Data Recorders (EDRs) for commercial vehicles under GSR 2, ITOM Engineering is proud to introduce its regulation-ready EDR solution. From July 2026, conventional vehicles in categories M2, M3, N2, and N3 will not receive type approval without a compliant EDR, and by July 2029, no new registration will be possible for these vehicles unless equipped with a compliant EDR.
What is an EDR?
An Event Data Recorder (EDR) is a specialized automotive device designed to capture and store critical crash and event-related data. Much like a “black box” in aviation, the EDR ensures that information about vehicle dynamics, driver inputs, and system responses during an incident is securely logged. This data is essential for accident analysis, regulatory compliance, and enhancing road safety.
